Laughter for What Ails You

I have a lot on my mind and some mornings when the alarm goes off the panic begins.

This morning after a few sips of coffee I went to check to see if my momma cat and her kittens were awake yet and then the laughter began.

I gave the momma cat Ava her morning can of Fancy Feast gravy lovers as the kitties started to surround me the laughter began.

At 5 1/2 weeks old, their personalities are shining and they began their morning routine. Two kittens immediately headed to the litter box and one focused on doing his business and getting out. The other, "Batman", seemed like he needed a magazine because he was comfortably settling in and taking his time.

Meanwhile, "James", the most outspoken kitten of the litter, had headed to the plate of dry food. I laughed out loud as he nibbled on the food while loudly meowing and voicing his enjoyment.

"Vicky" the only girl was looking for morning love and rubbed up against me as her brother "Tiger" tried to engage her in some play.

It has been a reminder of the miracle of life to watch these kittens develop. From rat-like newborns to curious kittens ready to discover the world, it has been a source of amusement to my family to share in their daily achievements and discoveries.

Some might say "they're just kittens- no big deal" but they are a constant source of amusement. Watching these little beings grow and discover the world (and try to conquer it) is a joy. Who cannot smile or laugh at their antics?

They make me forget about the "small stuff" because it is all small stuff.

They will be leaving us in a few weeks and going off to their new homes. I will miss them. I have helped their momma in caring for them and although at times it has been work, it really has been a joy.

Whenever I feel stressed a few minutes watching these kittens makes all my "troubles" melt away thanks to the laughter.

Check out these pics...how can you not smile?
