Don't Worry, Be Happy

Today I was finally going through some fitness magazines that my daughter was getting rid of. I like to save instructions for different exercises to use with my fitness ball and free weights. I can always find some variations of old ideas that work for my limitations.

While searching through one magazine, I came across an article written by a woman who was very well educated but struggled with her career path. She tried what was expected of her due to the educational degrees that she had but found that she didn't feel like she "fit" in this world of higher educated, often "snobby" people. Her passion was writing but as many writers know, making a living writing is not practical. She tried fitting in and then discovered that she was much happier working in a kind of job that didn't pay as much or show off her fancy degrees. She had more time to write and was able to keep a roof over her head. She learned that it didn't matter what you did for a living as long as how you were living your life made you happy.

The "moral" of this story is that whether you sweep the floors or run the building, it doesn't matter. What matters is if you are living a life that is true to who you are inside. I feel better. How about you?
