Perseverence

Yahoo just announced that the unemployment rate in July in New Jersey was at its highest since 1977. So much for new job growth.

I haven't checked the nationwide statistics but I am pretty sure that not much has changed.

Yup, finding a job in this economy is tough.

Personally it has been a long road, full of ups and downs.

After 10 weeks of full time employment I got let go. It wasn't long enough for me to go back and receive unemployment benefits so I am once again scrambling to find work.

The good news is that after a panicked few days, I am interviewing again. Interviewing is no guarantee but it sure beats not getting that call.

I am settling at this point in time because any paycheck is better than none at all. Yes making a little more than minimum wage is not going to pay my bills but it will pay some of them.

Meanwhile all I can do is hope that something better will come along.

Hope is all that I have and when I lose hope, well, everything falls apart.

Knowing I am not alone in this struggle does give me strength. I have the support of my family and some good friends. I am blessed.

Although I might be financially poor I am rich in so many ways that money cannot make up for.

For that I consider myself very lucky!
