Living a True Life

Some people will not tolerate such emotional honesty in communication. They would rather defend their dishonesty on the grounds that it might hurt others. Therefore, having rationalized their phoniness into nobility, they settle for superficial relationships. ~Author Unknown

I “stole” this above quote from a friend who posted it on Facebook. To me, it sums up why so many people are disappointed and dissatisfied in their relationships.
When you are able to set aside egos and be honest with each other, a whole new depth is added to your relationship.
Sometimes the truth can hurt but if you are able to reflect on the truth in someone’s criticism of your actions, you can make the changes necessary to grow as a person.
You need to realize that none of us is perfect and accepting that there is always room to grow as a person can help you to do the self-reflection that is needed to be able to be honest emotionally.
Why live a lie? Life is far too short to play make-believe.
When you can own up to your own faults, lovingly be honest with those around you and develop a real, true relationship your life will be one of truth.
When you cannot be true to who you are with others, you become as phony as the relationship. It can be a very lonely life when nothing is real.
